False Leaders

Welcome to the False Leaders Project – with this document we seek to provide a tool to help believers identify and deal with false leaders, provide New Testament teaching about false leaders that has international input and affirmation, provide a humble, principled, self-reflective, and discerning approach to this topic, and call leaders to faithful Christ-focused leadership.

Jesus and the Apostles taught that deceivers and their trickery will increase as the Lord’s return nears. We seek, through scripture, to answer the following questions:

  • Who are false leaders?
  • What motivates them?
  • How do they gain entry?
  • How do they act?
  • How do they impact people?
  • What do they teach?
  • What will happen to them?
  • How should we respond?
  • What are some Biblical reference points to consider?

The False Leaders Project was developed by 39 ministry leaders from 21 nations and 30 denominations and ministry organizations. We encourage you to read this and distribute this to others.

There is no cost to you for this. Our burden and vision is that leaders in the Kingdom will lead and develop other leaders to be more like Jesus.
